L.A.C.E.S reserves the right to modify these rules at any time.

  • * 9V9-Two 30-minute halves with a 5-minute halftime.

    * No offside.

    * Sundays at our Glendale field there must be at least 2 women players on the field at all times and out our Saturday Silverlake field there must be at least 1 woman on the field at all times.

    * Standard throw in and corner kick rules apply.

    * No slide tackling is allowed under any circumstances! Each slide tackle will be punishable with a yello card.

    * Games are scored 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. There are no shootouts except during playoffs.

    * Each team must have at least 8 players to start the game.

    * There is no shooting on goal allowed from kickoffs.

  • * Each team will have a total of 16-18 players on the team.

    * Each team will have a minimum of 3 female players on the team.

    * Each team will have a team captain that is responsible for representing the team and communicating information that pertains to the team.

  • * Shin guards (must be totally covered by socks to reduce risk of injury) are mandatory and are an absolute requirement for all players.

    * Footwear – Only soccer/athletic shoes are acceptable. Turf shoes must be worn on the turf field.  PLAYERS WITHOUT TURF SHOES WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY.  

  • * Teams must be ready to play their game 10 minutes before kickoff.

    * If a team does not have 8 players at game time they are considered to have forfeited.

  • GAME CANCELATION: Games will go forward rain or shine. Games will be canceled due to lightening or extreme heat. If games must be canceled, captains will be notified. 

    REFUND POLICY: * Full refunds can be issued if player notifies organizers 2 weeks before the season start date. If requesting refund within 2 weeks of season start date a credit can be issued that can be used for up to 1 year from issue date.

  • * Field player substitutions may be made at any point during game play or stoppages and do not require referee consent. 

    * Goalkeeper substitutions can only be made during stoppages in play with the consent of the referee.

  • * The goalie may use his/her hands anywhere inside the goal area 

    * Once the goalie has released control of the ball, he/she cannot touch it again with his/her hands until it has been touched by an opponent 

    * Goalie cannot use his/her hands on balls that have been intentionally directed to them by a teammate’s feet/body. They must play these balls with their feet. If the goalie uses his/her hands, a goalie pass back violation occurs. 

    * Goalies can’t use their hands if directly receiving a teammates throw in.

    * Goalies cannot punt or drop kick the ball 

    * If goalie punts/drop kicks ball, a corner kick for the opposing team will be awarded.

  • * Yellow Card – Referees will immediately substitute player out for a minimum of 10 minutes.

    * Red Card – A player receiving a red card, or two yellow cards in the same match, must leave the field premises, sight and sound, without substitution and they will miss the next match. 

  • * Discipline – The Team Captain assumes the responsibility regarding team leadership and maintenance of order and discipline. LACES expects each Captain to set a positive example for their players in promoting good sportsmanship and self- control.

    * Sideline Control – The Captain is responsible for the behavior of his/her bench area. After being verbally warned or cautioned by the referee for unsportsmanlike behavior from his/her bench area, the Captain will receive a red card if the situation persists. The referee also has the power to eject any spectator at any time at his or her discretion.

  • If a player receives two yellow cards in one game, they will be ejected and their team will need to play one player short for the remainder of the game.  If a player recieves a yellow card in two consecutive games the will be out for their next scheduled game.

    If a player receives a red card for any reason, he/she will be ejected and their team will need to play one player short for the remainder of the game. The player will also be out for his/her next scheduled game.

    * Red Card: Fighting, swearing, gesturing at or excessive arguing with the referee  

    * Yellow card violations: Multiple instances of excessively dangerous play as deemed by the referee
